Materials needed to examine cryptocurrency transactions

For an initial enquiry, briefly describe the situation and list the data available. A complete set depends on the question: confirming a transfer, reconstructing a route and comparing exchange records require different sources.

State the fact to be established

Replace a general request to “check cryptocurrency” with a specific task: confirm a transfer between two addresses, establish subsequent transactions in a period, or compare an exchange export with network records. State the required deliverable: table, analytical diagram, written examination or review of an existing report.

Attach a sequence of known events, each with its date, information source and any assumptions. If the exact time is unknown, keep the original wording rather than converting an estimate into an exact timestamp.

Provide full transaction details

Provide the blockchain network name, full addresses, transaction hashes or other identifiers and period. Explorer links help, but repeat the main details as text. A shortened address in a screenshot may not allow unique identification.

Specify the asset separately. For tokens, give the contract address or other network-specific identifier if known. “USDT” or another symbol without a network does not define the subject. If the network is unknown, say so; the specialist will first assess whether the materials can clarify it.

Preserve original files and export context

Platform transactions may require history exports, order records, deposit and withdrawal data, account identifiers in the materials and trade correspondence. Supply original exports where available. An edited table can explain matters but must be distinguished from the original.

State the export retrieval date, selected period, filters and time zone. Preserve column headings and platform explanations. An internal record does not always represent a separate public transaction; each row’s nature must be established.

Add documents relevant to the task

Comparing a payment may require trade documents and bank statements for an agreed period. For correspondence, message order, dates and transaction details matter. Provide individual images with their origin and what needs checking.

For a review, provide the whole report, including analysis, tables, diagrams and available appendices. Final answers alone usually cannot show the method. List missing materials so the limits can be assessed in advance.

Agree how materials will be sent

Public transaction analysis does not require seed phrases, private keys, passwords or verification codes. Do not include them in emails or forms. Wallet addresses and transaction identifiers serve a different purpose: locating records without gaining control of assets.

The first message may contain only a description and file list. Agree separately how to transfer confidential materials. Retain originals and send explanations and supplementary tables as separate files. After preliminary review, the specialist will state whether the set is sufficient and what is needed to answer the agreed questions.
